Terms of use
The terms that apply when you use the Kompass website or learning portal, create an account, or purchase learning from us.
Consultancy, training and software projects also have their own written scope and commercial terms.
Ask about the termsWho operates Kompass
Kompass Education (UK) Limited operates this website and the Kompass learning portal. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15455557. Our registered office is 4th Floor, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 6EB. These terms were last updated on 7 October 2026.
By using the website or learning portal, you agree to these terms. If you use Kompass on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so. Specific consultancy, training, software, subscription or purchase terms in an accepted proposal, order or contract take priority where they differ from these website terms.
Using the website and learning portal
You may use the public website to learn about Kompass and contact us. If you create an account, you must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from our failure to protect the service.
You must not misuse the service, attempt to bypass security, introduce harmful code, scrape or reproduce protected content at scale, interfere with other users, or use Kompass in a way that is unlawful or infringes another person's rights. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or the law, and will explain the reason where it is lawful and practical to do so.
Learning, purchases and cancellations
Course descriptions, prices and access periods shown at checkout form part of your purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. Any statutory cancellation or refund rights you have as a consumer remain unaffected. Additional terms shown before purchase, or agreed with your school or organisation, also apply.
Training, consultancy and software work begins only when scope, fees, timing, responsibilities and any cancellation arrangements have been agreed in writing. Information on this website is an invitation to discuss that work, not a binding offer to provide it.
Content and intellectual property
Kompass owns or licenses the website, learning materials, branding, software and other content it provides. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use purchased or supplied learning materials for their stated purpose. You may not resell, publish or distribute them unless we agree in writing.
You retain ownership of material you submit. You give Kompass permission to host, process and display it only as needed to provide the service and meet our legal obligations. You must have the rights and permissions needed for anything you submit, including personal data and third-party content.
Accuracy, availability and third-party services
We take reasonable care over our content, but education, technology and regulation change. General material on the site is not legal advice and should be considered alongside your setting's own professional, safeguarding, data protection and governance responsibilities.
We may update, maintain or temporarily interrupt the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Links and integrations supplied by third parties are governed by their own terms, and Kompass is not responsible for content or services outside our control.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you use the service as a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
For business users, subject to the sentence above and any separate written contract, Kompass is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, data or anticipated savings arising from use of the public website or free material. Any liability relating to paid services is governed by the agreement for those services.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms when the service or law changes. The date above will show the latest version, and we will give appropriate notice if a material change affects an account or paid service. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes. Questions can be sent to darren@kompass.education.
